Dip in the pool

Holiday wardrobe

I’ve already had my summer holiday back in May, I went away for a week with the girls. It was devine, a week in the sunshine sipping cocktails by the pool. It was the kind of holiday where we just relaxed, sunbathed and didn’t do a lot else.

Leading up to my holiday I started to look around for swim suits, as we all know, you need a new swimsuit for your holiday. I’ve turned some of my favourites into illustrations. I love these swimsuits from New Look and this high waisted bikini from Shein. Now wishing I had another pool holiday planned so I have an excuse to buy the spotty bikini.

Swimsuits – new Look
Bikini – Shein
Sunglasses – ASOS
Straw Bag – Topshop
Sandals & Earring – Zara
Sliders & Scrunchy – Topshop
Phonecase – Skinny Dip
Lippie, Nail Varnish & Compact – Chanel
SPF Sun Block – Nivea

What’s in my bag

I love creating these whats in my bag illustrations. I mean I love to be nosey and see what other people have in there bags and this is my fun take on the what’s in my bag style post. One of my New Years resolutions is to create more, create more illustrations and create more content. I’m trying to draw more regularly, making it a weekly occurrence. I mean I love doing it, it’s just finding the time and inspiration to create new art works.

In these illustrations I’ve included some of my most used daily essentials. For travelling across London my oyster card is a must, my iPhone keeps me entrained on the tube. I also never leave home without a lip stick and my compact, just for on the go touch ups.

At the bottom of my hand bag always has a couple of bobby pins and a hair bobble. I never know when my hairs going to get on my nerves and needs to be tide up. My daily perfume (and great for budgets) is Sheer Lovely by SJP. It’s great for daily use as its such good value and smells nice too! I’m not normally one for celebrity perfumes but this one is pretty darn good. If I’m feeling fancy, I wear either Marc Jacobs or Stella McCartney but I keep these for special occasions.

Daily Essentials

But First Coffee!

With the new year it brings a clean slate, it springs me into a motivated splurge. I’m putting together some thoughts on going into 2019 and what I want to achieve for the year ahead, which I’ll share over the weekend.

While I park my goals for the year ahead to one side for now, this post does linked back to it… As I want to be more creative this year, and one of they ways I want to achieve this is by illustrating more. Which leads me nicely to the topic of this post.

I do love creating drawings around everyday objects, especially my favourite beauty products. To me theres something special about taking normal, often mundane or overlooked items and creating them into flat lay drawings.

I’ve been busy creating lots of new illustrations to share over the coming months. I’m currently working on my annual birthday wish list – which will be hitting down in early Feb. This particular set of drawings feature some of my most used and most loved products – and some things that are always in the bottom of my handbag! If you have any ideas of things I could draw, do leave me a comment. I love creating new work and can always do with new ideas!

Little Yellow Bag

This yellow bag has fast become one of my favourites, I love the vibrancy colour pop it adds to outfits but if truth be told it doesn’t fit a lot in. I guess just the bare essentials, like house keys, bank cards, Oyster card, my lip stick, powder, conceal, perfume, shades – although the last couple of days in England has been a wash out, so much rain! I guess in away its good to declutter all the ‘stuff’ I carry around with me and take just the essentials I need for that day.
