Weekend Adventures

Stopping to smell the flowers

We spent last weekend in West Sussex with my father, having an early celebration of his 60th birthday… His birthday isn’t until August, so it is very early but we won’t be able to be together on the actual date. My sister was over from Greece for the occasion too.

My father rented a cottage for us all to stay in for the weekend. It was the cutest little place with an adorable little kitty that lived in the gardens. It was a great, fun family weekend. Which mainly involved eating in the local pub and sitting around chatting.

On the Sunday once the rain stopped we headed for a wander round a local garden. It was full of beautiful flowers, secret pathways, cute dogs and so many bubble bees! It was such a good weekend hanging out with my loved ones. The weekend ended with my sister treating me to a new Mac laptop, I know, I’m lucky aye! Goes without saying, my sister is better than yours 😉
I no longer need to borrow Dave’s laptop and instead have my own rose gold beaut!

Sunday Routines

Coffee Shop Run

It’s becoming our regular Sunday routine to walk one tube stop over and visit our new favourite coffee shop in Balham. Usually getting a spot of brunch while there but this weekend we just fancied stretching our legs and got coffee to go. Its a half an hour round trip and its a great way to kick start our Sunday. Thankfully today we made it back home before the rain came! I am so ready for January to be over, it’s so dark and gloomy. Plus February is my birthday month, so of course I’m bias towards it.

While on the way to the coffee shop, I got Dave to take some snaps. These are taken on his mini point and shot camera. Like I mentioned in this post, I’m trying to get a little more spontaneity into my posts, less planned and more on the go. It’s hard creating content when I work Monday to Friday, especially in winter with dark rainy evenings but I’m sticking to my goals as best I can so far. Trying to commit to my twice weekly posting schedule. So far, so good and I’m still feeling positive and pumped up!

I’m working on a little post about what we got up to last weekend in Bristol. Just need to edit some snaps and that should be with you all at the weekend. As for this outfit, it’s nothing new, you’ve seen all these peices before but I really like them together. Dave said I look like a burgula or one of the baddies from home alone 😏 I think it must be the hat. I am so thankful that I wore the hat, it was bloody windy out there! This beanie kept my hair at bay and stopped my bangs flying all over the place.

Time To Relax

It’s the weekend and it’s time to unwind from the hectic week. It’s important to take some ‘me time’ but I feel that at this time of year with it being so busy, with Christmas shopping, festive parties on top of the usual daily grind. It all can get a little bit too much.

You can’t beat fresh bedding, even though changing the bedding is a chore that no one enjoys, it truly is the best feeling getting underneath the fresh sheets. It’s the little selfcare things that really help balance out the crap.  I like to take some time out and have a little pamper session, light some candles, get cosy in bed and read a good book. I’ve always had an infatuation with Coco Chanel. I’m currently reading a biography about the lady herself and it’s the perfect escapism and chance to leave the daily stresses behind.

How do you like to unwind, do you have any tips for me?

SUNDAY’S GIRL

Their’s a chill in the air, were truly in the start of Autumn. Thankfully we’re still have some sunny days, then followed by chillier days, its a confusing time. Going from jeans one day to summer dresses the next. Although it’s nice to mix up my style and dig out some much cherished items that haven’t seen the light off day since last year.

We were off in search a of a late brunch and I fancied wearing jeans and something other than my leather jacket and opted for my blazer. I really don’t wear this jacket enough, this season I really fancy getting myself a suit. Something I can mix and match as separates but also wear as a full suit. Any coord recommendations, send em my way! I’m still loving both of these kissing face tee’s and I think they will look dreamy with a full suit. I’m really like the playful touch of mixing this polka-dot neckerchief with the check fo the blazer, adding depth to the look.

I’ve been in a shoe funk recently, wearing trainer mainly my vans daily. I am trying to get out of this funk and rotate my shoes but I just want comfort over style recently. It felt good getting these loafers out and wearing something other than trainers for a change. I also think my vans would work for this look but it’s nice wearing something a little sharper.
