Afternoon Tea

Date With My Love

We were lucky enough to receive a gift voucher for afternoon tea at Marco Pierre White’s restaurant. It was a Christmas present from my father, I know what you’re thinking, why have we only just been when we got the gift back in December. Well I’ll tell you, this is one busy and booked up afternoon tea, we couldn’t get a date until mid June!

I had such a lovely afternoon spending quality time with Dave, sipping on bubbly and eating nice food. Thankfully they catered for my gluten free allergy, meaning I could eat away without having a care in the world. My favourite sandwich was the ham and cheese, now that’s a classic!

Lunch Date At Greedy Cow, Margate

Lunch in Margate’s Old Town

On a recent trip down to Kent visiting Dave’s family, we headed to our favourite foodie joint in Margates old town, The Greedy Cow. If you ever find yourself in Margates old town and your looking for a spot of lunch make sure you make a visit here, their cheese toasties are to die for! Oh so good!

After filling our belly’s with cheese toasties and milkshakes, we headed for a wander to Dreamland. We haven’t been back since our wedding day last May! It was so much fun to revisit and re-live our special day. I love visiting Margate and it’s defiantly in one of my favourite places and one I would book mark if I moved out of London. I have more snaps from our weekend by the seaside and will be sharing soon!

For now, I’ve got a glass of wine and looking forward to a long weekend. Have a wonderful Easter weekend all!

Sunday Brunch Date

Spending a relaxing Sunday going for breakfast with my love, its the perfect way to unwind after a busy week at work. Both ordering a full English breakfasts, me with extra beans and him with black pudding. I love lazy weekends like this, taking a stroll to our local and treating us to breakfast.

We’ve also spent the weekend doing some DIY chores around our flat, putting up photographs from our wedding, a new curtain pole and some shelving. Were enjoying having our weekends back after the busy wedding months. Taking time to spend on our home and spend with each other is bliss. I’m having such a lovely summer, the weather really helps too! Hows your summer going?

Tavern Steak & Oyster

Lois and I met up for a dinner date, we headed to Tavern Steak & Oyster, located in the heart of the city just minutes walk from Bank station, so convenient for meeting after work. Tavern Steak & Oyster gives Londoners a true taste of a private members club, without the hefty annual club fees. They have succeeded in preserving the most worthwhile aspects of a traditional Club, whilst effectively responding to the demands of today’s business life.  Tavern Steak & Oyster is situated in the prestigious London Capital Club on Abchurch Lane, EC4, offering a convivial atmosphere, warmth and classic charm with a clever mix of old and new.

I really appreciated the styling at Tavern Steak & Oyster;  it’s the perfect bend of traditional alongside modern stylish. We had a lovely evening dining in the restaurant, with S uch a tempting menu.   To start I went with a Burrata and Lois had the Ham hock terrine. Whilst waiting for our food to arrive we chatted over the drinks menu with our host.  He asked us about which spirits and flavours we liked and the mixologist created us two very special cocktails.  Lois had a Pina Colada and I decided on Gin with a fruity syrup, oh boy! they were delicious, as were our starters, really yummy.

Before long our (very strong) second cocktails arrived, alongside the main course.  We both chose steak, Lois went for the Fillet, she likes it pink and juicy, so had it cooked medium-rare,along with a peppercorn sauce.   I chose  the Flat Iron and  as I’m a bit of a wimp about red meat,  I like it cooked well done, which I know is sacrilegious to most of you, but we are all individuals, so embrace it people! I decided on a Béarnaise sauce accompaniment.  We  enjoyed our steaks and the perfect crispy hand cut chips  and  side salad. This meal was such a yummy mid week treat, plus it was fun catching up with Lois in such lovely environment.

Such great food and attentive service,  would say its well worth a visit!
