Little Bloom

What a blooming lovely Sunday I’ve had, we’ve not long gotten home from visiting Dave’s parents. It was a flying visit as we went down for the day for an early birthday celebration for his Grandma. We had afternoon tea in the garden, soaking in the suns rays, chatting and catching up.

I picked up this dress from work and had to give it an outing before it gets daily wear. The cut is super flattering for my body shape, I love the frill details on the sleeve and the print is bloody cute. I also really like that it has a vintage tea dress vibe. Naturally I teamed it with my fedora hat, adding in this vintage red bag for a pop of colour. To toughen it up I added my ASOS boots, I’m not sure I’ve shown you them yet. I got them for Christmas off my Mammy, they needed some wearing in and they were little tight but I think I’m there now, so ya’ll be seeing them plenty more now. I also wore my leather jacket, although it turned into a beautifully warm day and I didn’t need it in the end.

Winter Floral

amy_blog_005 amy_blog_008amy_blog_037

I’m back with another dress from those lovelies over at Zaful.
This floral dress is just perfect for winter with light golden and cream flowers on a black base. I like the longer length and high neck line. I’ve styled it with gold socks and ankle boots, plus my Superdry suede biker jacket.
With this pattern, I like to keep my accessories simple and topped it off with my beloved Fedora hat and gold trim mock-crock bag.  To give my look an added touch of winter glam, I’ve painted my lips with a deliciously dark plum colour lippy.
I want to say thank you all for you’re lovely  messages of congratulation on our recent engagement! Some of you indicated that you would like to see blog posts about our journey through wedding planning.  I will update you once we have the ball rolling, but for now you might fancy having a look my wedding Pintrest board, see you there!

Soft Florals

A little outfit post for ya’ll. As you’re reading this, we are on holiday, driving to The Highlands of Scotland, for a week away and I can not wait to get there!

We’re also planning to explore Glasgow whilst up that way. Be sure to look out for posts sharing lots of beautiful scenery and the odd outfit picture. I have some ‘special looks’ planned and I’m excited about letting you in on our Scottish adventures over the coming days.

I have a posts in mind, scheduled for you’re reading pleasure next week… my trip away will not be shy of blogging. I will feature a recent afternoon tea treat- I was on my way there when we stopped to snap these pictures. For the afternoon tea date I wanted something cute and comfy, so I opted for this grey floral midi dress with a khaki Superdry jacket; I love the soft girly dress against the toughness of this khaki army style jacket; tan accessories complete the look.

As usual, I have been busy snapping away and plan to showcase recent photos that are fast becoming my favourites. I will be featuring a skirt which I think is a must have for summer 2016, see what you think, will it become one of your top garments of the summer too?

Tune in next week to find out what I think we will all be stocking up on this summer… Forgive me, I’m such a tease 😉

Secret Garden

We headed back to Birmingham, my home city for a flying visit and headed over to catch up with family at my Grandfathers house. After enjoying a big fat Sunday lunch with family, Dave and I stepped out into his beautiful garden and took this opportunity to take some snaps of my outfit.

This tropical print dress is new from Oasis with a vibrant, bold palette. I just love the silhouette, print and colours; I think it will be a great piece to wear through the summer months and well into autumn too. It’s easy to team up with layers and accessorised in a variety of ways for maximum versatility. On this occasion I am styling it with a navy blue tee, it tones down the bright colours to suit the occasion. I wore it with tights and ankle boots, accommodating the colder temperatures back home in the Midlands. I can see this dress suiting my needs all year round, it will work well by day or dressed up, catching time with friends for cooling cocktails on summer nights, just throw on a pair of sandals and you are ready to go. My favourite blue bag works rather well in completing the outfit. It’s a statement item, my current favourite and seems I can’t get enough of this bag lately…. I love the colour!

I’m starting to plan and prepare for our trip to Scotland in June. Dave and I are excited about creating photo shoots in the Highlands, I can’t wait for our next adventure and time to explore the beautiful Scottish countryside.

Adiós Salou…

salou_105 salou_109salou_113

Sadly this is my last post from sunny Spain, I didn’t get as many photographs as I’d have liked – this is mainly down to enjoying the holiday, not taking my camera with me on any day trips as I didn’t want to carry it in the heat and therefore I was relying on Dave to kindly take photographs… for me to pinch. I’m naughty like that, he’s just so darn good at taking nice pictures!

This is what I wore for our last evening in Salou, I brought this dress for Dave’s 30th Birthday party back in May. I was having such fun at the party, I didn’t get chance to get any photographs of the party or my dress, not even an instagram snap! I guess I couldn’t pick a nicer place to wear it again than sunny Spain. I wanted to be fancy so I donned my floral crown and to give the look a little edge I teamed it with my beloved cut out booties and tres chic clutch bag.

Spring, Is that you!?

The weather is playing games with us! It’s supposed to be Spring but it feels like winter still has a strong grip but I’m ever hopeful – soon as we had a hint of sunshine we jumped at the chance for our usual Sunday walk, to remind myself that it’s spring I put on my favorite floral dress and little blue satchel bag. I’ve been hit by a spout of Flu but thankfully it’s clearing and just in time for our holiday! While your reading this I’ll be NYC, it’s been snowing there which is daunting but I will be wrapping up warm and hopefully it’ll be sunny and spring like… Fingers and toes crossed!spring_01spring_03spring_07

Hold Onto Your Hats…

Sometimes an outfit just comes together and everything goes swimmingly, this is one of those times! Like I said in my last post, I’ve rekindled my love for vintage and this has leaded me to digging out all my vintage treasures. This dress being one of them, it’s from my friends over at Mad Elizabeth. This time around I ditched the tights (although it’s a little short, its far too hot for tights!!) and teamed with my sandals and beloved fedora hat… We all know how much I love a hat. Then the outfit was born which I wore it for a dinner date with Dave.

Moody Blooms…

amy_blog_002amy_blog2amy_blog_009We had a wonderful weekend at Dave’s parents and I’ll be sharing that with you very soon but for now here’s a little dress I’ve fast fallen in love with. I love the moody flower contrast between the dark patches to the light blue hues. It’s a cute little pinafore shape and I’m looking forward to making it preppy come Autumn but for now I went for more relaxed boho feel, layering it with a t-shirt and adding tights as it was a mixed weather kind of day… We seem to be having a lot of those lately! amy_blog_013amy_blogamy_blog_005amy_blog_021amy_blog_017amy_blog_010What I’m wearing –

Summer Solstice…

clapham_011clapham clapham_023

I’m feeling very lucky and grateful, I’ve had such a delightful weekend. We had a nice lazy stroll down to Clapham Common where we went for lunch at The Rookery’s. The best burger and fries we’ve had in a long time, then for a walk in the common. Boy, did we need to walk off that food as it was huge! The best part was Coco came along too, a little family day out! My favorite weekends are when I get to spend quality time with Dave and when Coco gets to come along, too! As we’re still having a warm spell I just went for comfort in my floral midi dress, Miu Miu bag and new favorite sandals. Below you’ll see Dave wearing his new Birthday t-shirt I got him from Urban Outfitters. I love the turned up sleeve and pocket details, he picked a good present!clapham_004clapham_028clapham_018clapham_01clapham_022What I’m wearing –

A Floral Tea Party…

flowers3flowers10Our friends Clive & Kate were down for a long weekend visit from Scotland, we visited the foodie festival in Clapham South. The food on offer was amazing and with so much choice! There was lot’s of different stalls and tents with all sorts of food. We had lots of yummy dim sum siu mai and sushi but by far mine and Kate’s favorite was the vintage tea party tent. As our tent was vintage and war time inspired they had dancers dresses in 50’s style and played great classic tunes. After we’d stuffed our faces we headed to a local pub to a good chat and cider, on the way I picked up these pretty flowers and made Dave take my photo in a shops alleyway. flowers4flowers7flowers8 flowers9flowers1flowers6What I’m wearing –
