Hanging Out In Farringdon

weekend_blog_125weekend_blog_107weekend_blog_137

Sunday Fun-day!

I had the best Sunday I’ve had in a while; Dave, Coco and I headed to Farringdon north London for an afternoon of exploring. Our first stop was Caravan for a take-away coffee. We then headed straight to the park so Coco could have a run around, he played with lots of dogs and made a new BFF who you can see below – his name is Goose (and I loved him!!).

As we were freezing we headed in search of a coffee shop, which allows dogs inside and came across Sweet Boulangerie & Patisserie. I had a cheeky slice of carrot cake and an earl grey tea, while Dave went for a flat white coffee and a flat bread sandwich. I’m looking forward to the summer months and more Sunday afternoons exploring pretty areas of London town.

I’m still waist deep in my 70’s throwback phase – I don’t really like calling it a phase, it’s more of a style choice. I will be sharing my outfit in full glory over the weekend, so make sure you come back for a look-see.

Soho Secret Tea Room…

Soho_tea6Soho_tea4Soho_tea1Afternoon Tea?!

My friend and I visited the Soho Secret Tea Room on friday afternoon.  I’ve been wanting to go here for ages, I finally got round to going and It didn’t disappoint. It’s hidden above the famous London pub Coach & Horses. They have a huge selection of loose teas,  where you have a timer to let you know when your tea has brewed to perfection. Served in dainty mix match china tea cups and saucers. They also have a wide selection of cakes and do traditional afternoon tea with scones and triangle sandwiches, we opted for carrot cake and I had my classic earl grey tea. It was a yummy afternoon spent with my friend. I would highly recommend a trip to the secret tea room!

The Perfect Afternoon…

Check3Check2At The V&A –

We had a very cultured weekend, on Saturday we saw The Woman In Black at the theater. Sunday was spent wandering around the Victoria and Albert museum, with afternoon tea and cake. Then Monday we visited the Tate Modern and the Roy Lichtenstein and a Bigger Splash exhibitions. I love Roy’s work and was great getting to see it up close, I used him as inspiration for my GCSE art and then again for a fashion collection. The Bigger Splash wasn’t really my thing but it was good to see… While at the V&A we came across this lovely corridor and staircase, with a huge window. As it was super cold outside we opted for taking photos inside and within the pretty surroundings. Dave was really happy with the lighting the V&A provided…

It’s been amazing to spend some quality time with my Father. I was very sad to say goodbye 😦

Check4CheckCheck6Check1Then It Was Time For Afternoon Tea & Cake!

As we all know I love nothing better than spending my Sunday afternoons in pretty coffee shops drinking tea and eating pretty cakes. This Sunday was no different but I possibly enjoyed it more than usual as wondering around the V&A first then resting in the cafe was splendid. v&a1v&aLike usual I had Earl Grey tea and carrot cake, Dave opted for a flat white and blueberry muffin. My dad had lemon drizzle cake (good choice) and Judy a fruit tart I believe. Like usual I didn’t get chance to snap photos of everyone else – we were to hungry from wandering around all day. v&a3 v&a2

Afternoon Tea…

TeaBreak3With Carrot Cake!

Going for afternoon tea on a Sunday is one of my favorite things to do! Rachael and I often meet in our local, which serves lovely cakes and teas. We like to try out lots of different places but the Graveney Meadow seams to be the place we go the most. My tea of choice is earl grey and this time I tried the carrot cake, it was yummy! We like to try a different cake each time we visit and Rachael usually gets jealous of my choice, so this time she picked the carrot cake same as me 🙂 .
