Levelling Up My Skin-care Routine

Since creating this post I’ve upped my skin-care routine and wanted to share some of the bits that have been working for me. Now I am no expert and nor do I claim to be. At the grand old age of 33 I still get bad spotty skin. Especially around the time-of-the-month, shout out to those hormonal spots.

These are a few thing that are working for me and I enjoy my little pamper session. I’m looking to add a vitamin C serum and maybe some sort of night cream into this mix. If you have any recommendations of what I should add into my routine or any recommendations to help bad skin, I would absolutely love to know!!

Morning Routine:

I kick start my mornings by washing my face with Glossier’s Milky Jelly Cleanser to wake me up and wash away of my dribble from the night before (real sexy, i know 😉 ) and then i go in with the good stuff that is Cera Ve and their Foaming Cleaner. This has been a godsend for my skin and has really helped clear it up in recent months.

Next step i put two pumps of Paula’s Choice BHA Exfoliant all over my face but mainly focusing on my jaw line. This is one of my can’t live without products! It helps with those pesky small bumpy spots under the skin that seem to appear on my jaw line. Anyone know what causes those and what i can do to prevent them? Is it diet related or hormonal? I also use a tea tree oil stick on spots throughout the day if needed or i can feel a new spot appearing.

While I’m waiting for my skin to absorb that I drink a glass of water. Once thats dried in I go in with a small amount of Glossier’s Priming Moisturizer and if needed i can alway add more. While my skin is soaking up all the moisturizer I make myself a cup of Earl Grey tea.

If I’m having a no make up day I leave it there but if I fancy make up I go in with Glossier’s Futuredew. I’m craving that dewy glow and this delivers just that. I need to invest in a better SPF now we live in permanent sunshine as mine leaves my pores clogged and makes me spotty. Thankfully my IT Cosmetics CC cream has SPF+ 50! The CC cream and Futuredrew are the dream combination and give you that sun-kissed holiday glow without actually having to be in the sun.

Night Routine:

Glossier’s Milky Jelly Cleanser to clean my skin and remove any make up. Then as I don’t like getting my eyes wet when washing my face (weird phobia i have) I use Garnier’s Micellar Water to remove my eye make up if I’m wearing it.

I then use two pumps of Paula’s Choice BHA Exfoliant all over my face. If I have bad break out of spots I use the Glossier Solution on a cotton pad and press over the effected areas. This is too strong for me to use all over my face daily. I use it once a week all over my face and restrict it to specific break out areas. Once every two weeks I use a Purifying Mud Mask from  Sephora and when i have a spot coming through i often just use a small amount of this on the spot. It really helps dry out the spot.

A couple times a week I’ve started using this jade roller. I’m not sure I can see any results just yet, I mean I see quick difference on eye bags but I’m not 100% sure i know what results I should be seeing? I do enjoy rolling it in up-ward motions over my face, it soothes it and helps my skin absorb everything.
