mon amour pour le rouge

It was my birthday last Sunday, so to celebrate Dave and I headed for brunch at a local café (you can see all about it in my previous post). I’m feeling a wee bit smug about my little video *insert sassy emoji here*.  We demolished a delicious breakfast and with caffeine flowing through our veins we headed to our favourite photo taking spot, which is conveniently,  just a stones throw away from our house.

I was a bit indecisive when getting dressed for this shoot. Do you ever feel like that?
I didn’t really know what I fancied wearing, so I had a mooch through my wardrobe and picked out this blouse and styled the finished look around it. I wore something similar over the festive period, see here. I think it’s a winning classic, I just love this blouse and bag teemed up together.
I’m showcasing some new jeans, which fit me so much better around the waist compared to other brands.  Unfortunately, whilst looking great, they’ve stretched out too much and haven’t retained the original shape which is really disappointing but thankfully these new ones are holding their shape well!
To complete the look and keep me snug I dug out this faux fur jacket; I’ve loved this jacket for many years, it’s a keeper.  I realised it hasn’t been out of the wardrobe much this winter and decided it was about time it made an appearance. We had a rare spot of sunshine on Sunday, it was great to feel the sun on my face.  It was quite bright though, so I donned my fancy DKNY sunnies and it felt good.

On reviewing the snaps there is a Parisian Chic quality about this look, I think the red tones, beret and pussycat eye shaped sunnies all add to that French essence.

Now if only we were on the streets of Paris!

What I’m wearing –

Blouse & Bag – Topshop
Jeans – Oasis
Shoes – Office
