There is nothing better than London in the sunshine, on a sunny weekend we headed for our usual coffee date. Getting up early on Sunday and taking our usual stroll through the common and into Balham, past all these beautiful houses. It’s one of my favourite back drops for a couple of snaps. I often dream about one day owning a house like this, for now that dream is a long way away!
Let’s talk about this outfit – I’m wearing my new denim dress. As we all know I love a midi and this denim chambray one is the perfect addition to my wardrobe. It’s the perfect summer dress, not too thick and as it’s plain it is perfect to wear with printed accessories.
My obsession with hair accessories continues and any chance to wear this leopard beauty I jump at the chance. It goes perfectly with this denim dress, expect to see this pairing throughout the summer.

Well a year and a day, as I’m a day late with this post.. But that’s a side note. Were now into our eleventh year as a couple, and one year into our marriage. One of the most regally asked questions is what does married life feel like, and if I’m totally honest it feels the same as before, just some how more secure. I know that might sound strange but this is the only way I can really describe it. Nothing in our relationship has changed. It’s just nice to know we have made this lifetime commitment to each other. And with that, we’re in our own special club, with only us two as members, its our very own special married club.
I absolutely love looking down and seeing my wedding ring on my finger, every time I see it, I get a warm happy feeling. It’s strange to think that before meeting Dave I never really wanted to get married, I just thought it wasn’t for me. Now its one of the best things I’ve ever done. Gosh, this is getting soppy! I’ll try keep it a mush free as possible as I’m not that kind of gal.
I always knew Dave was the one and after nearly eleven years together and getting married, it’s pretty safe to say he is my true love. I guess over the years our relationship grew and I grew with it, it changed my mind about marriage and how I felt about it. Then one day out of the blue Dave popped the question and I couldn’t of been happier.
A year on, things haven’t changed much, I still have the same surname and we still don’t have a joint bank account. These are things that may change in the future but for now, we are happy knowing we have made this committed to each other in front of all our loved ones. We have a whole lifetime to do the typical married admin bits..
To celebrate our big day, I’m sharing some of my favourite snaps for our wedding and a special illustration I created in celebration.
I’m back off my holiday, and back to rainy old Britain! I spent last week in Fuerteventura with my two gal pals, sunning it up, relaxing, doing a spot of shopping and tapping up that free bar! I’m back at work and the weather is just been tipping it down. Thankfully I still have my holiday glow to get me through the rubbish weather.
On a brief break in the rain, Dave and I had a date day. Starting off with brunch, then heading to the cinema and ending the day with a Wagamamas. It was great to spend some quality time with him after being apart for a week. We snapped these photos in the middle of our date day.
I wanted to wear my new white dress for two reasons, firstly its new and I’m always obsessed with new clothes and secondly it shows off my tan. Now compared to my two friends, I’m not that tanned but for me this is a blooming good tan.
This weekend marks Dave and I’s first wedding anniversary, I’m putting together a especial post to mark our first year as a married couple.

We had a lovely Easter bank holiday weekend down in Kent. Visiting Dreamland, walking along the sea front and a family day out to Howletts Wildlife Park. I have a funny relationship with Zoo’s, I love visiting them but also can’t help hating seeing the Animals in cages and wish they didn’t have to be locked up. It’s a strange one, as lots of the animals were born here and unable to be realised into the wild but thankfully some of the offspring have been able to be released back into the wild which I was delighted to hear. We actually were lucky enough to have a really good chat with one of the ladies who worked for Howletts and she was telling us about the breeding, and how its a conservation charity and about the work they do to releasing animals back into the wild. You can read more about the work they are doing here.
I’ve been saving this dress for a special occasion, it was a birthday present from my Mother – she knows my style very well! This linen dress served me well in the mini heatwave we’re having. I’m also sporting my newest hair band which I picked up from Primark. They are just so good and affordable, I thought this leopard print one would go perfect with my tan dress. I really wanted to bring a straw bag with me to use for this look, but unfortunately we were limited on what we could bring due to getting the train down. Dave’s car was in for it’s MOT, it was a pack light and jump on a train affair, thankfully we were able to drive the car back home. It’s one of those pack light situations and had to make do with my daily handbag.
I’ve just got back off on a girls holiday to sunny Fuerteventura. I took this dress with me but I swapped out my my trainers for sandals and packed my straw handbag!
How glorious was the weather over the Easter bank holiday weekend. With weather this good there was only one place to spend it and thats with a walk along the seafront. With Dave’s parents living in Broadstairs and only a stones throw from the beach, it would be rude not to visit on such a sunny weekend.
After a stroll along the main sea front we slipped off to Stone bay, which is slightly quieter than the main beach Viking Bay. This is the ideal spot for walking dogs and taking outfit photographs like we did. With hardly anyone around it makes the perfect location, Dave could snap away and I could pose without getting embarrassed and pulling awkward faces while people stop and stare – you’d think after all the years I’ve been doing this it wouldn’t bother me but sometimes it really throws me off my stride when someone comments or stops to stare at our blogging shoot.
We had lots of fun taking the snaps and exploring the beach. Climbing over rocks, running away from the tide, saying hello to cute dog and just spending one on one time with Dave. I’m off on a girls holiday next week, so soaking up time with Dave before I leave him for a week – soppy sod, I know!
On a recent trip down to Kent visiting Dave’s family, we headed to our favourite foodie joint in Margates old town, The Greedy Cow. If you ever find yourself in Margates old town and your looking for a spot of lunch make sure you make a visit here, their cheese toasties are to die for! Oh so good!
After filling our belly’s with cheese toasties and milkshakes, we headed for a wander to Dreamland. We haven’t been back since our wedding day last May! It was so much fun to revisit and re-live our special day. I love visiting Margate and it’s defiantly in one of my favourite places and one I would book mark if I moved out of London. I have more snaps from our weekend by the seaside and will be sharing soon!
For now, I’ve got a glass of wine and looking forward to a long weekend. Have a wonderful Easter weekend all!
I’ve had a weekend where we haven’t got up to much. Having to work on Sunday ruined our usual routine of walking to our favourite coffee shop and the weather on Saturday called for a lazy day on the sofa. It’s actually been nice and chilled, well except for working on a Sunday (all in all it wasn’t a bad day). I definitely over estimated the sunshine thinking it was super warm but it wasn’t. In fact it was bloody freezing! I thought my hoodie and leather jacket would keep the chill at bay but I might need to dust off my winter coat tomorrow.
This skirt is another of my new monochrome recent buys, getting it on my staff discount made it a rather good bargain. I think I’ll get plenty of wear out of it over the summer months. It’ll work perfectly with my slogan tees like this Topshop one, not that you can see the slogan much as my hair is covering it, doh! The skirt will work equally well with a plain black tee too.
I’m pleased with how my summer wardrobe is shaping up, just need the weather to get on board so I can ditch the layers. I’ve also got my eye on a couple of cute bags, sandals and a dress or two for my holiday at the end of April. I’ll keep you posted on what I end up buying for it.

Like I mentioned in my last post I’ve recently brought a couple new monochromatic pieces and this spotty Zara dress is probably my favourite. These photos were taken on what was possibly the windiest day of the year – meaning most of the snaps weren’t any good.
I was wearing this look for running errands, coffee date and just before going to do our weekly shop I got Dave to snap some images for the gram and blog. You know how it is, quickly squeeze in a photo shoot where we can. I’m in love with this dress and will no doubt be making another appearance here in it very soon. Hopefully on a sunny day with zero wind! That way I can show it off with more detail.
Teaming my red bag to match my hairband, I do love to coordinate! To give the look a little twist I’ve added my checked vans. They were brought on a whim with birthday money. They were discounted and I thought why not, I’m so glad I did, they have fast become my favourites. I love clashing them with other monochrome prints.
Its the perfect transitional dress. For its first outing I’m wearing with red accessories. There is something about red with black and white that you just can’t beat, its a classic and I love it. My current love affair for hair accessories isn’t wavering any time soon. This red number is another Primark one, they are such good value and have so many options to choose from. I’m working on a post all about my favourite hair accessories which I’ll be sharing very soon!

I’ve always had penchant for monochrome but recently this love affair has grown and I’ve been lucky enough to introduce a couple new monochromatic gems into my wardrobe. Starting with this little gingham dress. There are so many reasons why I love it, from its vintage vibe, gingham print and finally the fit. Its hard this time of year, its not warm enough to ditch the layers (just yet) then we have a couple of days of warm sunny weather where it’s too warm for a leather jacket. It was one of those warm days yesterday, I while out for a walk I had to take my leather jacket off as I was over heating. Then I’ve woken up today to grey Skys and a drop in temperature. It’s a mind-field getting dressed I never know what the weather is up to on the daily.
When choosing what to wear in these ever changing temperatures I opt for a midi dress – now I’ve ditched the tights since January, which I know won’t be for everyone but I just hate wearing them. I often find my legs don’t get cold as long as the rest of me is layered up. Wearing jumpers and a hat to keep the heat in if it’s a particularly chilly day. To me, midi dresses are perfect for transitional dressing. They can be layered up if needed and can be the perfect statement dress when worn on its own. This little shirt dress could be layered with a polo neck underneath for the colder months (plus worn with tights if you so wished) and with ankle boots, then ditch all that for the summer.
This dress has the perfect vintage vibes, its giving me all the Audrey Hepburn feels and I am here for it. I felt good in this dress and I’m sure you’ll be seeing it a lot more over the warmer months. I have ideas for styling it with statement bags and summer sandals. For now my espadrilles are out as it’s not quite open toe weather just yet. I am in full spring mode and the straw bag has made an appearance and I’m hoping the sunshine comes back so it can get some more outings. I may have sprung a little too early but I am excited for more sunny days and summer styling.

Here is my final instalment of my trip to the USA and my last post from the beautiful Joshua Tree National park. I mean, just look at this landscape. I’ve never seen anything like it, so beautiful! Thankfully we are heading back to LA later this year and I’m really excited to head back here and do more exploring.
Yet again, I’m wearing a rather impractical outfit for our hike but you know what, I was comfy and managed to climb to the top of a very large and rocky hill. Also a little tip, if heading out here in December, wear more layers than I am. It was fine while the sun shined but when the sun went behind the clouds it was bloody cold. Next time I’ll wear hiking boots and more layers.
We had the best time in LA and I can’t wait to visit again. We’re heading out in September for my sister in-laws wedding, first hitting up Las Vegas, I have so many points pinned on the map of where we want to visit! Then we’ll have a week in LA, I can’t wait to explore more places and some of our favourites we went this time.
Have you ever been to LA or Joshua Tree National park and what did you think?
