Lunch Date At Greedy Cow, Margate

Lunch in Margate’s Old Town

On a recent trip down to Kent visiting Dave’s family, we headed to our favourite foodie joint in Margates old town, The Greedy Cow. If you ever find yourself in Margates old town and your looking for a spot of lunch make sure you make a visit here, their cheese toasties are to die for! Oh so good!

After filling our belly’s with cheese toasties and milkshakes, we headed for a wander to Dreamland. We haven’t been back since our wedding day last May! It was so much fun to revisit and re-live our special day. I love visiting Margate and it’s defiantly in one of my favourite places and one I would book mark if I moved out of London. I have more snaps from our weekend by the seaside and will be sharing soon!

For now, I’ve got a glass of wine and looking forward to a long weekend. Have a wonderful Easter weekend all!

Easy Like Sunday

Wind Swept

I’ve had a weekend where we haven’t got up to much. Having to work on Sunday ruined our usual routine of walking to our favourite coffee shop and the weather on Saturday called for a lazy day on the sofa. It’s actually been nice and chilled, well except for working on a Sunday (all in all it wasn’t a bad day). I definitely over estimated the sunshine thinking it was super warm but it wasn’t. In fact it was bloody freezing! I thought my hoodie and leather jacket would keep the chill at bay but I might need to dust off my winter coat tomorrow.

This skirt is another of my new monochrome recent buys, getting it on my staff discount made it a rather good bargain. I think I’ll get plenty of wear out of it over the summer months. It’ll work perfectly with my slogan tees like this Topshop one, not that you can see the slogan much as my hair is covering it, doh! The skirt will work equally well with a plain black tee too.

I’m pleased with how my summer wardrobe is shaping up, just need the weather to get on board so I can ditch the layers. I’ve also got my eye on a couple of cute bags, sandals and a dress or two for my holiday at the end of April. I’ll keep you posted on what I end up buying for it.

T-shirt & Bag – Topshop
Skirt – Oasis
Hoodie – Primark

Polka-dot Dress Of Dreams

Windswept Outfit Of The Day

Like I mentioned in my last post I’ve recently brought a couple new monochromatic pieces and this spotty Zara dress is probably my favourite.
These photos were taken on what was possibly the windiest day of the year – meaning most of the snaps weren’t any good.

I was wearing this look for running errands, coffee date and just before going to do our weekly shop I got Dave to snap some images for the gram and blog. You know how it is, quickly squeeze in a photo shoot where we can. I’m in love with this dress and will no doubt be making another appearance here in it very soon. Hopefully on a sunny day with zero wind! That way I can show it off with more detail.

Teaming my red bag to match my hairband, I do love to coordinate! To give the look a little twist I’ve added my checked vans. They were brought on a whim with birthday money. They were discounted and I thought why not, I’m so glad I did, they have fast become my favourites. I love clashing them with other monochrome prints.

Its the perfect transitional dress. For its first outing I’m wearing with red accessories. There is something about red with black and white that you just can’t beat, its a classic and I love it.
My current love affair for hair accessories isn’t wavering any time soon. This red number is another Primark one, they are such good value and have so many options to choose from. I’m working on a post all about my favourite hair accessories which I’ll be sharing very soon!

What I’m wearing –
Dress – Zara
Trainers – Vans
Suede Jacket c/o Superdry
Bag – Topshop
Hair Band – Primark

Spring In My Step

Little Gingham Dress

I’ve always had penchant for monochrome but recently this love affair has grown and I’ve been lucky enough to introduce a couple new monochromatic gems into my wardrobe.
Starting with this little gingham dress. There are so many reasons why I love it, from its vintage vibe, gingham print and finally the fit.
Its hard this time of year, its not warm enough to ditch the layers (just yet) then we have a couple of days of warm sunny weather where it’s too warm for a leather jacket. It was one of those warm days yesterday, I while out for a walk I had to take my leather jacket off as I was over heating. Then I’ve woken up today to grey Skys and a drop in temperature. It’s a mind-field getting dressed I never know what the weather is up to on the daily.

When choosing what to wear in these ever changing temperatures I opt for a midi dress – now I’ve ditched the tights since January, which I know won’t be for everyone but I just hate wearing them. I often find my legs don’t get cold as long as the rest of me is layered up. Wearing jumpers and a hat to keep the heat in if it’s a particularly chilly day. To me, midi dresses are perfect for transitional dressing. They can be layered up if needed and can be the perfect statement dress when worn on its own. This little shirt dress could be layered with a polo neck underneath for the colder months (plus worn with tights if you so wished) and with ankle boots, then ditch all that for the summer.

This dress has the perfect vintage vibes, its giving me all the Audrey Hepburn feels and I am here for it. I felt good in this dress and I’m sure you’ll be seeing it a lot more over the warmer months. I have ideas for styling it with statement bags and summer sandals. For now my espadrilles are out as it’s not quite open toe weather just yet. I am in full spring mode and the straw bag has made an appearance and I’m hoping the sunshine comes back so it can get some more outings. I may have sprung a little too early but I am excited for more sunny days and summer styling.

What I’m wearing –
Dress – Oasis
Jacket c/o ASOS
Bag – Topshop
Hair band – Primark
Espadrilles – Zara

Going for a hike…

Joshua Tree Part 2

Here is my final instalment of my trip to the USA and my last post from the beautiful Joshua Tree National park. I mean, just look at this landscape. I’ve never seen anything like it, so beautiful! Thankfully we are heading back to LA later this year and I’m really excited to head back here and do more exploring.

Yet again, I’m wearing a rather impractical outfit for our hike but you know what, I was comfy and managed to climb to the top of a very large and rocky hill. Also a little tip, if heading out here in December, wear more layers than I am. It was fine while the sun shined but when the sun went behind the clouds it was bloody cold. Next time I’ll wear hiking boots and more layers.

We had the best time in LA and I can’t wait to visit again. We’re heading out in September for my sister in-laws wedding, first hitting up Las Vegas, I have so many points pinned on the map of where we want to visit! Then we’ll have a week in LA, I can’t wait to explore more places and some of our favourites we went this time.

Have you ever been to LA or Joshua Tree National park and what did you think?

Joshua Tree National Park

Part 1

While out in Los Angeles we took a mini break and headed to Joshua Tree National Park for the weekend. I’ve broken down our weekend stay into two parts as we managed to get two sets of outfit snaps while out here in the desert. The back drop was just too stunning not to take all the photographs. This place was like no where we’ve ever visited before, we were in ore of it.

Me, being me of course wore the most sensible outfit for a hike. I mean next time I will dress more appropriate, maybe in hiking shoes instead of trainers. Maybe in some sports gear too! Considering I was in a dress and trainers I still made a good go of it, hiking and climbing over all the rocks. I also had a stinking cold, who goes out to LA on holiday and gets a cold?! Typical! Again, I didn’t let that stop me and we had the best time exploring.

I can’t recommend a drive out here enough, were already planning our next visit for later this year.

Santa Monica Pier

Santa Monica Pier At Dusk

Back with my second post from my LA postcard series. This time I’m sharing our evening spent exploring Santa Monica pier. It’s such a fun place to visit with neon lights and plenty of rides to go on. It was one of my favourite places we visited. Defiantly planning our return and to make more of that beautiful sandy beach!

I knew Santa Monica would make a great photo opportunity. It was great coming from cold and very rainy London to LA where it was perfect leather jacket wearing weather, I was able to dig out all my favourite summer garms for this trip.
This floral jumpsuit is one of my absolute favourite items of clothing I own, so naturally I opted to wear this for such a fun location. I styled its with this little pink bag to add an extra pop of colour and my trusty leather jacket to toughen the florals up a little. Also wearing trainers making it easier to explore and for comfort, I always opt for comfort. Plus I like the mix of girly florals with trainers.

Jump Suit – & Other Stories
Bag – Warehouse
Trainers – Vintage Adidas
Jacket c/o ASOS

LA Post Cards

Urban Light

Back in December I headed out to Los Angeles to meet up with Dave. He was out there for work and I was lucky enough to pay him a visit for 10 days. It was great to be reunited with my love, he had already been away for well over and week and I was missing him terribly.
We hinted up the sight of LA, ticking off some of my must see places off of my list. One of them was the Urban Light. It’s one of the most instagrammed places in Los Angles but thankfully when we visited it wasn’t too busy and we managed to get some snaps without anyone (or hardly anyone) in the background.
I’ve been blogging for many years now but can still get shy when stopping to take photographs in the street, mainly because people stop and stare. That was until I visited LA, so many people posing for that perfect instagram shot. I mean, we saw so many insta shoots happening. It made me feel at home and at ease, its like its a normal thing to do out there. So we got snapping away!

I have plenty more to share from my trip and looking forward to my next visit!

Ready For Spring

Hello New Spring Dress!

I’m so ready for spring its unreal. I can’t wait for the sun to be shining, the evenings to be light and hopefully the cold wind to be gone! Last week we had a teaser of spring but sadly that didn’t last too long. I’m still ditching the tights and have no intent on wearing them again until next winter.

Which brings me onto this new dress, it’s a Primark special and a bargain price of £15. I must admit I’m not the biggest Primark fan but then I stubbled across this dress I rushed to the tills to make it mine. For its first outing I wore it with trainers but for its second I opted for ankle boots. Adding my trusty biker jacket and I was ready for a coffee date with Dave.

I’m also wearing a necklace I picked up with birthday money. I love anything with my initials on and got this Celine initial dupe from Urban Outfitters. Its a really great affordable version of this huge trend and pretty pleased with this little beaut. Expect to be seeing me wearing it all the time from now on!

What I’m wearing –
Dress – Primark
Necklace – Urban Outfitters
Bag & Boots – ASOS

Girls Supporting Girls

Happy International Women’s Day!

Last year I wrote about how lucky I am to have a supportive and strong female friendship group. I’m happy to say I still have this, in-fact me and the girls have just booked a weeks getaway for early May, and I can’t wait!

I still stand but the words I shared last year – Sharing the love is the best, whether thats giving a fellow blogger a supportive comment, or linking Instagram snaps to a coffee date with a pal who’s feeling down. It’s great to see us being supportive and showing just how proud we are of each other.

I am proud to call myself a feminist, its such a shame that still to this day some people misunderstand, which is utter nonsense as it means seeking equality. The Oxford English Dictionary definition of feminism states – the advocacy of women’s rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes.

I’ve created some new illustrations in honour of International Women’s day. I’ve also created them as wallpapers for your phones, so if you fancy head over to @illustrating_amy to grab on for yourself! All these ladies are available!
